Flowing from the horizonless expanse of Dublin Bay, the five million stitches of handwoven soft wispy cashmere and shimmering silk take the beholder on a journey to the source, capturing and distilling the intangible beauty of nature.

In my creative workflow, art and science are two sides of one coin. I seek to capture, distill, translate, and represent in a hand-woven scarf the intangible and incomprehensibly nuanced idiosyncrasies that cause me to lose myself in a scene or a source. 

This scarf is the soft grey-beige-blue water and sky of Dublin Bay. It’s a story that began aged two, when for forty seconds on my first DART trip between Dalkey and Killiney, I pressed my face against the window, captured and captivated by that horizonless expanse where the sea opened up and swallowed me.

The source is just one part of each heirloom scarf’s story, how it’s told is the other. The forty hours of hand-weaving five million stitches of silk and cashmere with my own unique woven pattern allows me to share my exploration of the sensory – touch, taste, feel, learn - with the wearer of the scarf.
