Making - the role of sensation in inspiration.

For over 15 years, I've been dedicated to sharing narratives through the art of woven textiles. Inspired by my blind grandfather, a skilled basket maker, who had a remarkable ability to "see" with his hands, I learned to embrace my own sensory perceptions and unique sensitivities influenced by my autism. His guidance instilled in me a passion to create pieces that awaken the tactile senses, encouraging a deeper connection to art and craftsmanship. My purpose is to illuminate the beauty in merging artistry and skill, inviting all to appreciate the mastery behind the creation of work at this level.

In 2011, working with the Dylan hotel, I began to showcase my work to international audiences, before launching my business, ‘Brendan Joseph Limited’ in 2015, and these two books are from that collaboration period.

Here below are two books I made for guests at the Dylan, which were also produced individually as postcards and sent to website visitors who left their details and showed interest in a particular piece.
