St. Moritz
In the off-season calm, this glacial lake dances effervescently with ever-changing colors. Winter thaws into Summer. Dawn mist intensifies bright glacial hues. Midday sun awakens coppery blue. With sunset, it melts into deep cyans and teals, ending in a blanket of peppermint grey at Dusk.

It’s hard to define or describe the effervescent energy of Switzerland’s glacial lakes, and their incredible show of colour, constantly changing throughout the seasons. This is St. Moritz Bad (lake) in the canton of Graubünden in late March as Winter thaws and Spring begins.
Early morning mist intensifies the light low on the water: A dance of bright glacial petrol blue. The midday sun awakens coppery blue, and at Sunset it dances again in the deepest cyans and teals, giving way to a blanket of peppermint grey in the fading evening light.
