Sanctum Cocoon
This ornamental duck pond is the sole remnant of Dublin’s 1907 World Fair, when the now peaceful Herbert park was packed with 2,750,000 visitors.
Today the pond, shaded by century old trees is the home of fish, ducks, birds and plants, and a quiet refuge for Dubliners on their lunch break or afternoon off who sit with a book by its banks wondering what gives it its shocking shade of chartreuse green.
